FOOD INGREDIENTS / PREMIX

Singnergy introduces a completely different approach to valorize various types of food and beverage production side streams, ugly/unwanted fruits and vegetables or unsold consumer products, from "farm to table" through the use of the Super-Quick (SQ) drying technology.

The systems are versatile in accepting a wide variety of wet substance and focuses on the rapid removal of water from it to produce fragrant, dry, stable and sterile food ingredients/premix within 10 - 18 minutes of processing time while simultaneously preserving nutritional value and organoleptic properties.

Wet food substances dried using the Super-Quick, SQ drying technology is given a new life radiating with organic nutrition, strong flavors and aroma.

See it, smell it, taste it, to believe it.

BARLEY SPENT GRAINS

Barley or brewer's spent grains (BSG) are the extracted residue from the manufacture of wort from beer or beverage manufacturing processes. There are 12 million tons of brewers' spent grain generated worldwide.

With the SQ drying technology, we can valorize wet spent grains into nutritious, sterilized and stable dried products, resulting in tons of high value food/food premix which are low in glycemic index (GI) but high in protein and fiber.

Food products made from BSG are gaining attention within the food production industry due to its high nutrition and protein quality as well as its potential for a wide variety of applications, such as breads, noodles, biscuits and snack-type products.

OKARA

Okara is the ground up fibrous part of the soybean, consisting of insoluble parts which remains after pureed soybeans are filtered to produce soy milk or tofu. It forms a significant portion of the side streams from the soy product manufacturing plants.

The SQ drying technology subjects Okara to high temperatures for a few minutes to purely remove the water contents while simultaneously retaining the innate flavour, nutrition and essence of the raw material, producing high quality dried products fit for human consumption.

Okara powder is a highly sought-after nutritional protein enhancer which also adds texture to baked or savory meals.

orange peels

Orange peels are rich in several nutrients such as fiber, vitamin C, provitamin A, folate, riboflavin, thiamine, vitamin B6, calcium and plant compounds like polyphenols.

A single tablespoon (6g) of orange peel provides 14% of the Daily Value (DV) of vitamin C, which is nearly 3 times more than the inner fruit. That same tablespoon will contain 4 times more fiber.

The SQ drying technology retains high amounts of nutrients within the peels due to the brief high heat contact time. Therefore, our systems are the preferred choice when it comes to nutrient and aroma retention in an energy and time efficient manner.

ugly/unwanted vegetables

Vegetables are rich in vitamins A, C, antioxidants, calcium, iron and potassium. These nutrients start to deteriorate quickly after harvesting. Shelf life typically lasts only a few days after transportation through the international supply chain.

A substantial amount of these fresh produce are rejected due to cosmetic defects, making up a significant portion of our annual food waste.

Our SQ drying technology quickly and efficiently dehydrates vegetables to retain their nutritional value and aroma. The dried products are free from cosmetic inconsistencies with up to 90% reduction in packing volume. These unwanted produce can now be upcycled and given a second lease of life.

farmed crickets

Insects are becoming a growing alternative protein choice for urban populations. With the nutritional content of insect ‘meat’ similar to traditional livestock meat, it makes insects the more sustainable and economical approach for the world's food problem.

Crickets contain up to 65.5% protein where adult crickets provide between 13g - 20g of protein for every 100g serving size. This form of protein is better digested by humans as compared to plant based sources from rice or corn.

Other than protein, they also contain a good amount of vitamins, minerals as well as fiber. Therefore, to reap the most of its benefits and preserve all that goodness, we need the right technology to do so, in an economical and environmentally friendly way.

fish trimming

The volume of fish trimmings are substantial in volume. 30% of the fish are disposed of in normal fish preparation or up to 60% when only the fillet is prepared.

The nutritional content of the disposed fish trimming is high and has the potential to be converted into high quality dried food products not only as animal/aqua feed, but also for human consumption. The dried fish products were found to contain more than 54% protein, a perfect addition for protein rich diets.

Well controlled parameters using Singnergy’s SQ drying technology delivers consistent high quality dried fish products free from pathogens and mycotoxins based on high sanitization standards.

SURPLUS bread

Surplus bread is generated in various places of the value chain, with the main contributors from the retail market, where it becomes less desirable to consumers when the remaining days till expiration nears.

Several practices have been put in place such as re-distribution to charity organisations, however, majority of them are resold as low-value animal feed.

The SQ drying technology is able to upcycle the surplus bread in an energy efficient and hygienic manner in 10 -18 minutes for human consumption. The short heat contact time retains nutrition and aroma, making it a high value and delectable addition to recipes.
